Lancashire Facts

Lancaster Castle has been a prison since at least 1196 and is now partly open to the public. The notorious Pendle Witches trial took place here and the castle survived an attack by Robert Bruce and more than one royalist attack during the English civil war. Lancaster Castle is currently owned by Queen Elizabeth II.

Directions:

Follow the M55 until you reach the end of the motorway go into Blackpool town centre and get onto the sea front with the sea on your left follow signs to Cleveleys and Fleetwood and carry on going until you reach the the Norbreck Castle Hotel. The Centenary is situated on the block just before the Norbreck.
