Lancashire Facts

Lancaster Castle has been a prison since at least 1196 and is now partly open to the public. The notorious Pendle Witches trial took place here and the castle survived an attack by Robert Bruce and more than one royalist attack during the English civil war. Lancaster Castle is currently owned by Queen Elizabeth II.

Directions:

from the m55 follow the signs for Central car parks and continue to the very end of the road. Turn left into central drive and follow the road round the right hand corner into albert road. Pass through one set of traffic lights and you will find us just 100 yards along on the right hand side.
